About St. James
Saint James is a district of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The main road is the Western Main Road. It runs from Woodbrook to Cocorite. The area’s major thoroughfare, has long been the city’s main nightlife district, sometimes nicknamed “the city that never sleeps”. The largest Pizza Hut in the world is located in Saint James on Tragarete Road.
This district is well protected by the police barracks, it is home to the Harvard’s Sports club, King George the 5th Park, Fatima College & the fast efficient licensing office etc. For the carnival season, St. James provides an array of celebrations as it is well known for its many local pubs.
It is an area fit for commercial activity as it is known for its busy daily activities especially in the peak seasons. The district offers banking services, many food business of different ethnicity, Supermarket retail and wholesale trade, furniture etc.
Highlights of this area also comes from the Queens Park Oval where all the cricket activities are held such as the exciting CPL, One day internationals and Test cricket. This is a definite location for liming and having fun.
