Tabaquite is in the peaceful countryside that is historically an agricultural village with scattered areas of homes and roadside basic amenities along the main Guaracara-Tabaquite Road which leads into the Rio Claro-Tabaquite Road. It lies approximately 23 kilometres from Gasparillo travelling in a North- Easterly direction and South on the Caparo Valley Brasso Road. The roads are paved with sidewalks, drains and street lights with are available such as water, electricity, telephone lines, community park, public transportation, and in the main village one has all of the basic amenities such as shopping, schools and churches businesses, etc.

Tabaquite is a town in central Trinidad, north of Rio Claro and west of the Navet Dam.
Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2015 Kimberly Singh hails from Tabaquite. Tabaquite is a primarily rural area and suffered from infrastructural neglect. It was an important cocoa bean producer.
Tabaquite is well known for the Knollys Tunnel one of the only visible areas in Trinidad where once the nations Railway ran.
The community has significantly developed since its neglect in prior years. Most residence have successful developed their small businesses and the community is progressing positively.
