Nostalgic North Coast Beach Home This Architect-owned and designed 7 bedroom villa is located along this North Coast on 52,000 sq. ft. of elevated freehold lands, overlooking the ocean with its own private beach. It faces directly into the North East Trade Winds, affording spectacular views along the coastline. The Villa consists of several separate cottages as follows (covered area = 5000 sq. ft.): • A central 1 storey main building with living/dining room and kitchen, a large bathroom, covered porch, children’s sleeping loft and double car port, store room and laundry. • A 2 storey cottage with 2 bedrooms each ensuite with bathroom and walk-in closet and private balcony. • A master bathroom 1 storey cottage ensuite with bathroom and walk-in closet with covered porch. • A self-sufficient 2 storey cottage with 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, a kitchen, living rooms and an encircling covered porch. • And a caretaker’s cottage with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and porch. • There are also 2 gazebos, one of which is on an ‘island-like’ promontory, linked to the property via a pedestrian bridge, while the other is adjacent to the swimming pool. This property is enclosed with a 7ft high boundary wall with ‘drive in’ gates and a lower fence at handrail height along its coastal boundary consisting of horizontal multi-stand stainless steel cables, allowing for unimpeded views of the Sea. Blanchisseuse
Blanchisseuse (pronounced, in the local English dialect, "blan-chee-shears") is a village in Trinidad and Tobago. It is located about midway along the north coast of Trinidad on the northern slope of the Northern Range, about 24 km north of Arima.
The village was settled by the French following the Cedula of Population in 1783.
When Captain Frederick Mallet was charting and surveying the island of Trinidad following its capitulation to the British in 1797, he was told that the village had no name. Observing the women washing clothes in the river, he simply wrote on his survey chart: "Ladies River". Later, the settlers called the place after the washerwomen the surveyor had seen, Blanchisseuse being the French for "washerwoman".
The village is accessible from Port of Spain via the North Coast Road. Blanchisseuse is located much further than the Maracas Beach and Las Cuevas beaches but it still remains a popular beach.
Blanchisseuse is famous for the Blanchisseuse Spring Bridge, beaches and Marianne river. The Blanchiessuse Spring Bridge is located on the Paria Main Road Blanchisseuse where most people visit to take photos of this historic site.
