Arima, officially The Royal Chartered Borough of Arima is the easternmost and second largest area of the three boroughs of Trinidad and Tobago. This town is well known for its shopping areas located in the inner most portion of the town. It serves as a main trading hub for environs which makes the town considerably busy. Many persons visit Arima to relax and enjoy the wide array of local bars and street food offered such as burgers, doubles, gyros etc. Home to the famous drag malls, persons can visit Arima to purchase items of Rastafarian heritage. Arima, has primary and secondary schools, hospitals, police and fire services readily available. It attracts persons from all over as it hosts exciting borough day & Jouvert celebrations Fun fact, Arima is home to the indigenous people known as the “Caribs”. They are mainly found in the area of Arima called Calvary Hill which attracts many tourists as the Caribs were a well-known tribe in their time.
Arouca is a town in the East–West Corridor of Trinidad and Tobago located 19 km East of Port-of-Spain, along the Eastern Main Road. It is located west of Arima, east of Tunapuna and Tacarigua, south of Lopinot, and north of Piarco. It mainly comprises residential housing. There are several schools located in Arouca including the Bon Air Primary School, Arouca Anglican Primary School, Arouca Girls R.C., Arouca Boys R.C., Arouca Government Primary Schools and Bon Air High School. Arouca is home to four prisons and one correctional facility. These include the Golden Grove Prison, Remand Prison, Women's Prison and Youth Training and Rehabilitation Centre.
D'Abadie is a community located in the Tunapuna-Piarco regional corporation in Trinidad and Tobago. Its population is approximately 5,827 people. Some businesses include Arawak Chicken Factory, D'Abadie Discount Hardware Limited and PriceSmart Wholesale Club. Some schools include Pinehaven S.D.A. Primary School and D'abadie Government Primary School. One of its attractions is Cleaver Woods, a park dedicated to the history and culture of the indigenous Caribs.
El Dorado is considered both residential and commercial area and is split into North and South by the Priority Bus Route, with South being the commercial district. North provides Secondary and Primary schools and newly developed housing schemes which are privately owned. This area has groceries and many small businesses alongside the Eastern Main Road (EMR) which provides services to the community. The centralized Constantine park provides use for sporting activities and exercising. South functions around Industrial and manufacturing type businesses however there are residence living amongst this activity. This main carriageway located in El Dorado South can divert you to the Churchill Roosevelt Highway where you can find Massy Stores, Popeyes, Service Station etc. El Dorado is protected by the Tunapuna police and Fire services. Many residence who require a wider array of services will usually commute to Tunapuna as this area acts as the main hub for shopping, cinema, or purchasing a wide array of goods offered form the well-known Tunapuna Market.
Mausica also known as Mausica Road is located between D’abadie and Arima in the North Eastern side of Trinidad. This is considered a residential area where many small businesses are thriving due to its economic growth. Major businesses such as Pricesmart and Arawak have taken up location amongst this community. Mausica area has developed significantly as there are gated communities located there. Mausica Road begins from the Eastern Main Road, crosses the highway and joins onto the Caroni North Bank Road. On this side of Mausica Road, there are mostly government plantations and administrative buildings, private owned quarries and minimal residents. Many working class persons use this road to divert from traffic and use as shortcuts to move from the East into the Central and Southern areas.
Piarco is a town in northern Trinidad and is the site of Piarco International Airport. Piarco includes the villages of Piarco and St. Helena. Piarco is the site of one of the few natural savannahs in Trinidad and Tobago, the Piarco Savannah. Most of this savannah land has been incorporated into the airport. Businesses such as Caribbean Airlines headquarters, Airport Authority Administrative Centre, Swissport Cargo, Civil Aviation, TTPOST just to name a few are located in and around Piarco. Trincity Mall, Piarco Plaza, Service stations, Supermarkets, Pharmacies, Hardware and Hotels can also be found in the vicinity of Piarco.
