About the Region
Valencia
Valencia is a rural community located in the North East region of Trinidad and Tobago. Many quarries are located here. Residents have grown accustomed to this activity and adapted quite well.
The Valencia Junction has many business activities from food, bars, groceries, service station etc. It is protected by the Valencia police station and also has access to a health facility.
From the Valencia junction you can use the roundabout to access Sangre Grande and the more easterly areas such as Manzanilla, Mayaro, Rio Claro, Guayguayare etc.
There is a main river called the Valencia River where many locals visit to participate in a well organized or deserved weekend lime.
The Valencia Main Road is very busy as most persons visiting or commuting to work from areas such as Toco, Salybia, Matura etc. use this access road to get to their destinations.
Wallerfield
Wallerfield is a residential and industrial area in Arima. It served as Waller Air Force Base, and since the closure of U.S. Army base in May 1949 it became the informal home of various types of racing (using former airstrips) for over 40 years.
It is the site of a new multimillion-dollar University of Trinidad and Tobago campus complex, as well as several housing developments and other projects.
Further projects have been planned to transform it into Trinidad and Tobago's first science and technology research park, which will be known as the Tamana InTech Park.
This area is also home to many Bison farmers as well as chicken farms. Many residents as well as other locals have gardening spots where they reap perishables for sale.
The area is growing significantly resulting from all the new developments.
